An inauguration ceremony of Ca Nan 2 Hydropower Plant (HPP) was conducted in Huu Kiem Commune, Ky Son District, Nghe An province on the afternoon 28th July by SCI Joint Stock Company.
The ceremony was in presence of Mr. Hoang Van Tam - Party Secretary – Director of Nghe An Department of Industry & Trade; Ky Son provincial leaders and the local people
The plant will contribute to the national power grid of 95 million Kwh/year
Ca Nan 1 and Ca Nan 2 HPPs, under string of Ca Nan HPP invested by SCI Nghe An Co., Ltd and undertook SCI E&C JSC as the EPC, were groundbroken by 21st April 2017 with total capcity of 23MW. Ca Nan 1 has a capacity of 7MW in territory of Na Ngoi Commune. The capacity of Ca Nan 2 is 6MW located in Ky Son District, Nghe An province. The total investment funded for the project is 810,842 billion VND.

The project was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade at the Decision No. 1114/QĐ-BCT dated 24/3/2016 and accepted by the People Committee of Nge An at the Letter No. 5239/UBND-CN dated 22/7/2016.
Ca Nan 2 HPP has capacity of 16 MW in Chieu Lưu Commune, Huu Kiem Commune, Nghe An province
After three years of civil construction and equipment installation, both projects have been so far put into operation and connected to the National Grid. Those completed projects are appraised to display their assured quality and well conform to the environmental regulations. Being put into operation, such plants have made great contribution to enhance their power supply capability to the the local socio-economic development of Nghe An province. In forecast, two plants are to supplement 95 million kwh for the national power grid.

Affirmed by Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc at the ceremony that “With our motto: Creating Values – Elevating Position, during the past years, SCI employees have always attempted to create the valuable works making contribution to the national development. The annual average amount submitted by plants Ca Nan 1 and Ca Nan 2 for the local budget is 35 billion dong. The local budget is estimated to be supplemented with 1.200 billion vnd during the project lifetime. Besides, the community responsibilies are under SCI’s priority to accompany and help the disadvantaged to stabilize their social warefare”
Said Mr. La Van Chanh – Vice Chairman of Ky Son People Committee “Putting Ca Nan 1 and Ca Nan 2 HPPs into operation is promoting the power supply and contributing the local development”
Delivering speech at the ceremony, Mr. La Van Chanh - Vice Chairman of Ky Son People Committee affirmed “the Approval Decision of Ca Nan 1 and Ca Nan 2 HPPs is given for the supplementary power supply to stabilize the local people life in particular and also help the added power amount connected to the National Grid. He complemented the Owner’s effords and its contractors during the construction progress and the support from the local affected community during the resettlement. It was his expectation that, in the coming time, SCI Nghe An Co., Ltd will conduct efficient operation of the plants and closely cooperate with the relavant departments of Nghe An province, Ky Son District and relevant Communtes to take care of the local people and be aware of the environment during the project operation.

During the execution of Ca Nan 1 and Ca Nan 2 HPPs, SCI has visited and dispatched warm blankets to the local people in the highlands of Na Ngoi Commune, Huu Kiem Commune. Many gifts have been sent to the disadvantaged pupils in the Tan Phan Hamlet, Huoi Thum, In particular, a 150KV transformer station with investment of 500 million VND was built by SCI’s own cost for the villagers in Tang Phan Hamlet, Na Ngoi Commune. In addition, SCI also invested the transformer transmission lines for Huoi Thum Hamlet with the budget of 450 million VND. Such SCI investment in two plants has helped forming a 32 km long road connecting the National Road 7 with the communes and villages in the region and provided telecommunications and information for the neighboring population.
