The survey was conducted immediately after the release of Decision of Lai Chau People's Committee to aproove for the investment policy of Nam Lum 2 Hydropower Project in Ban Lang Commune, Phong Tho District.
The delegation included leaders of SCI JSC, leader of SCI Lai Chau JSC, SCI Consulting Corporation and engineers, experts working in the section of hydroelectric and geological. The inspection’s mission is conducting the feasibility research report, environmental impact assessment, establishing of land compensation schedule, implementing procedures for land acquisition, land allocation,… at Nam Lum 2 Hydropower Plant. In addition, engineers and experts also analyze to ensure the safety of downstream residential area, do not affect upstream & downstream existed itesm as well as other items in investmental area, to ensure the principle of harmonize and allocate water resources during project implementation.

Previously, on February 5th, 2018, People's Committee of Lai Chau province issued Decision No. 126/QD-UBND approving the investment policy of Nam Lum 2 Hydropower Project in Ban Lang commune, Phong Tho district. The project is invested by SCI Lai Chau JSC with total investment of more than 600 billion VND. Total capacity of the factory is 18MW with an average annual electricity volume of 69.44 million kWh.
The project is expected to be built in 4 years. In which, from the 1st quarter - 4th quarter of 2018, SCI Lai Chau will carry out the technical design survey, prepare construction drawings; completes legal documents; milestone, and finish land clearance compensation, etc. In 2019, the project will build up construction auxiliary items & access roads. From the 1st quarter of 2020 to the 3rd quarter of 2021, the Employer will coordinate with the Parties to construct the main construction items. It is expected that in the 4th quarter of 2021, Nam Lum 2 Hydropower Plant will connect to grid and starting operation.

Mr. Bui Le Khoa, Director of SCI Lai Chau JSC said, the investment in construction of Nam Lum 2 Hydropower Plant to generate electricity, connect with national grid to serve the needs of production and daily life, create jobs for labors, contribute to increase state budget revenues, promote socio-economic in Phong Tho district, also contribute to brand extension and profitability for SCI.
