'After 7 years of graduation, I worked in engineering for hydroelectric projects, but only when I jointed SCI E&C, I found myself able to express my ideas freely. I have improved my knowledge not only in hydropower projects but also in wind power, solar power projects…'.
Shared by Nguyen Van Quan when he talked about the Technical Engineering Department, SCI E&C Company. Quan confided: 'Here, the superiors always create conditions for development and value everyone's opinions upon any proposals are given. Therefore, I myself feel able to show my true ability. The dynamic and reliable working environment here makes me more interested in my job and passionate about my responsible work'.
With only around ten (10) engineers, the Technical Engineering Department has been designed a numerous number of drawings for all projects that SCI E&C has constructed. A series of large projects up to now can be mentioned such as Long Phu 1 Thermal Power Plant Project, Nam Theun Hydropower Project, Nam Sam 3 Hydropower Plant (in Laos), Vung Ang Thermal Power Plant Project, 1A National Highway Construction, Huong Linh Wind Power Plant Project, Huong Phung Wind Power Plant Project, Nam Xe Hydropower Project, Nam Lum 1, Nam Lum 2 etc.
The Technical Engineering Department is considered as the 'driver' for each project. Because each project has a different topographical location, it is not easy to design drawings responsible by the Technical Engineering Department in each project. In addition to the previous survey and measurement, the general layout of each project must also be designed in order to minimize the maximum cost of manpower and ensure the best quality. Therefore, each work item before moving to the construction is always performed in detail exactly to every centimetre. Not only that, during the actual construction at the construction site, there are unexpected changes which shall be adjusted, the whole technical team shall have to speed up the work to keep up with the unmanageable progress day and night.
The Deputy Director of SCI E&C Mr. Cao Hai who is directly in charge of the Technical Engineering Department said that there are twelve employees in this Dept but most of them are young under 35 years old. All of them are graduated from the leading universities in the Irrigation and Construction. Working with them, Mr. Hai seems to be much younger: 'The brothers in the Department are always researching and proposing new design software. Working with you guys, I feel like I'm 20 years old. They learn new things every day and are not afraid to go to the far construction site, dedicated and full of energy. We will have optimal and quality drawings in large projects that SCI E&C will execute in the near future'.
Not only being the engineers who always work enthusiastically without delaying the progress, the young people of the Project Technical Engineering Department are also active participants in many activities. The Department has its own football team to compete with other teams in the Company. Every month, the entire Department have a picnic to have coffee together and exchange life stories to strengthen the relationship.
On March, the month of creative young people! Meeting the staff of the Technical Engineering Department of SCI E&C, surely everyone is filled with the spirit of learning to change and improve in work day by day, hour by hour. Wish the new goals of the Technical Engineering Department will soon be successful!
