In the morning of 23 November 2022, the Ceremony of Tunnel Breakthrough and Launching the 90 day-and-night campaign of the main dam embankment at Nam Xe HEP (Lai Chau province) were properly organized by SCI E&C JSC.
The Ceremony are attended by Mr. Vu An Minh - Deputy General Director of SCI JSC; Mr. Doan The Anh - Director of SCI Lai Chau JSC; Mr. Pham Son Tung – Project Manager of Nam Xe Hydropower Project belong to the EPC Contractor and all workers and engineers who are working for the tunnel and dam construction items.

After 20 months of construction, Nam Xe HEP has completed the 5.2km long headrace tunnel with the horseshoe cross section as 3.5 x 3.5m and the slope varied from 1% to 5%. Speaking at the Ceremony, Mr. Le Cong Vien - Deputy General Director of SCI Lai Chau JSC – represented for the Employer to show the high appreciation to the efforts of the EPC Contractor as well as all subcontractors who have overcome a lot of difficulties, challenges, and complex construction conditions to fulfill the strict requirements in terms of technical and occupational safety as well as catching up with the planned timeline.
In addition, Nam Xe HEP is now under the peak phase with the main dam embankment in this dry season. In order to expedite the construction for ensuring the project timeline, the EPC Contractor – SCI E&C JSC has launched a 90 day-and-night campaign of the main dam embankment. The campaign is divided into 2 stages: Stage 1 is held from November 15, 2022 to December 30, 2022 (from ela. 518m up to ela. 533m) with a total volume of 125,000 m3, Stage 2 is held from January 1, 2023 to February 15, 2023 (from ela. 534m up to ela. 545m) with a total volume of 75,000 m3. The left abutment of overflow is designed with the crest elevation as 545m, the width as 10m and the axis length as 142m and maximum height as 30m.
Workers and Engineers are all presented to participate the Ceremony launching 90 day-and-night campaign in November 23 morning.
