The occupational safety is always attached special importance at all construction sites. However, as for Long Phu 1 Thermal Power Plant Project, SCI has a command: 'Safe to work – work must be safe' for all employees entering the construction site.
SCI staffs in the work safety awereness before the work
Long Phu 1 Thermal Power Plant is a national key energy project with a total capacity of 2,400 MW located in Soc Trang province. SCI Joint Stock Company has been executing many important items in the project such as: cooling water system; Coal warehouse foundation station; Intake gate ... For the completed items, in addition to the construction quality and progress, SCI work safety is highly evaluated by PTSC general contractor
Although the site work stars at 7:00 am every morning, but before 30 minutes, all officials and workers in their workwear are present at the construction site to listen to the labor safety instructions. Confined by one worker that most of the safety regulations are well understood by everyone; and yet, every morning when being being heard of the occupational accident prevention method, we all are added with 'carving the heart' to our task keeping ourselves and our colleagues safe.
There are 3 - 4 safety supervisors for each construction item that SCI undertakes in Long Phu 1 Thermal Power Plant. At the beginning of the morning, the main contents mentioned by supervisors include: Electrical safety work; Mechanical safety construction work; Safety work in the confined spaces and high work safety; Fire safety during use of gas; Safe crane towing and lifting. From the start of the project to present, all of the workers’ working days start with the safety instructions. Therefore, in the last 5 years, despite many difficulties in the safety in some construction items, with the efforts of the safety team, SCI is very fortunate not to suffer from accidents related to the workers on Long Phu construction site 1

SCI's management board in the project said that in the coming time, although the progress of items is urgently needed with quality, the work safety is still particularly important and considered as the first priority in construction. With the close and drastic direction of the workers safety and awareness monitoring, SCI expects to minimize safety risks to ensure the absolute safety for its employees.
