By performing the wind power projects in Huong Hoa District, SCI Group has contributed to bring a new look of the Quang Tri hometown. This place is "changing its look" day by day and is forecasted to be an attractive green tourist area for those who love to experience and exploration.
Building wind power projects in Huong Hoa district, SCI Group has contributed to bringing a new look to the countryside of Quang Tri. This place is "changing flesh" day by day and is forecasted to be an attractive green tourist area for those who love to experience and explore.
Miracle of the wind towers
The mountainous border district of Huong Hoa is located in the west of Quang Tri province with a very diverse terrain. The construction and transportation have faced numerous difficulties because of the alternative mountains and rivers and division of the terrain, rivers and streams all originated from high mountains.
However, Quang Tri also has advantages with ideal conditions for wind energy production. The land located between the North and the South is easy to release the electricity capacity when the 500kV transmission line has run through and the northeast and southwest winds blow strongly all year round. In 2019, SCI Group started the construction of wind power plants in Huong Hoa District
In the previous years, the road to the villages in Huong Linh, Huong Tan or Huong Phung communes etc. was familiar with low-lying forest trees which could not support the wind. Therefore, the fact that SCI Group builds the 110m high wind towers rotating among the mountains and hills is considered a wonder in Huong Hoa.
Regarding the construction and operation of wind power projects, SCI is one of the first contractors in Vietnam to transport the wind turbine blades on the road by adapters which helps to transport the blades via the complicated terrains with the narrow corners and high slopes to avoid obstacles such as the power lines, houses, roadside trees and at the same the maximum land clearance costs. In just a short time, SCI Group has transported 46 sets of 68m long turbine blades with over 20 tons weight to the safe installation locations at projects owned by the Company as the Investor and General Contractor. In addition to coordinating with the world's leading partners, SCI has used the turbines provided by Enercon Company (Germany) having the optimum gearless technology with the advantage of low wind speed generation from 2.5 m/s and wind as high as 28m/s.
The selection of this advanced equipment helps to reduce the land occupied area criteria to only 0.14 ha/MW (compared to the prescribed land use rate of no more than 0.35 ha/MW) making a significant contribution efficient use of the national resources
At the project clusters Gelex 1,2,3 and Huong Phung 2,3, SCI Group is the leading contractor in equipping the Operation Management system according to the central control system (OCC) etc. The OCC system is considered as the "brain" of the smart factory, acting as the centre for receiving the control signals and processing the operation of the terminals.
With the use of OCC, upon putting into operation, the wind power plants will save the maximum costs as well as the direct labour while the required quality safe operation for all powerhouse in the system is still ensured.
Huong Hoa green eco-tourism area
With the mountainous terrain, Huong Hoa district has potential from Lao Bao international border gate - An area encouraged for economic and commercial development. The leaders of Quang Tri province are creating the favourable conditions in all aspects to attract businesses ‘investment here. The advantage of Lao Bao international border gate is located on the National Highway 9 across Asia connecting countries in the region: Laos, Thailand, Myanmar and the Central Region of Vietnam.
In particular, Khe Sanh town of Huong Hoa district is the intersection between the East and West Truong Son Mountain peaks, so the climate is quite ideal. The climate is relatively mild throughout the year, with the subtropical nuances, the annual average temperature is 22 degrees Celsius.
In recent years, the existence of the wind power plants invested and built by SCI Group in Huong Hoa has created a significant source of revenue for the tax budget of Quang Tri. However, it is the most remarkable that the appearance of this area coloured by the blades is being embellished more and more beautiful in the middle of the green forest here.
Thanks to the roads connecting the wind towers, the places of interest here are better known for the easy access for travelling and exploration. Tuyet Tinh Coc Lake, Lonely Tree, Rao Quan Lake; The Se Pang Hieng, Se Pon rivers and hundreds of streams, small crevices, underground water and a system of lakes, parks, and flower gardens in Huong Hoa will certainly be an ideal experience for those who love to travel and explore the primary plant.
Grasping those favourable conditions, numerous investors are considering Huong Hoa as a potential location for tourism and resort development. Currently, some resorts being built around Tuyet Tinh Coc Lake. Many flower gardens have bloomed inviting tourists to check-in every day.
Not only contributing to the economic potential of tourism for Huong Hoa and surrounding areas, SCI Group also has numerous meaningful social activities during the construction of wind power plants in Quang Tri. In 2021, SCI invested in building a multi-purpose classroom at Lao Bao 2 Primary School. SCI Group also participated in supporting the construction of a flower road along Tan Do lake, supporting the construction of Lao Bao park or giving a study promotion fund to poor students to overcome difficulties etc.
In the coming time, in parallel with the development, investment in construction, management and operation of the hydroelectric power plants, SCI Group will invest in the application of clean technology, green technology, electric motors using new technology in the field of renewable energy.
With current financial potential and human resources, SCI Group strives to be a well-positioned investor in building the renewable energy at domestic and foreign countries in the future.
