Recently, SCI E&C officially completed the acceptance and handover of the package “Remedial Measures on the Right Abutment of the Main Dam of Nam Ngiep 1 Hydropower Project” to the Employer, Nam Ngiep 1 Power Company Limited (NNP1PC), under Japan’s Kansai Electric Power Company and EGAT International.
Following the contract signing in September 2024, the company promptly mobilized the necessary workforce, machinery, and equipment to commence construction work. The scope of the package included: excavation of landslide-affected soil and rock; hauling of isolated rock blocks; slope stabilization works; slope rock filling after excavation; drainage works; and the installation of a displacement monitoring system.
On April 18, 2025, after completing the mechanical construction works, SCI E&C handed over the project package to the Employer, meeting all requirements in terms of quality, schedule, and aesthetics, affirming the company’s construction capabilities and reputation in the renewable energy sector.
Mr. Nguyễn Văn Quý, Site Manager, shared: “We are honored to have been entrusted with this package by the Employer, NNP1PC. With our team of skilled engineers and workers, coupled with strong determination, SCI E&C successfully completed the project on schedule, ensuring top quality and absolute safety. Despite challenging terrain and harsh weather conditions, the project team worked closely and made continuous efforts to overcome all obstacles.”
The Nam Ngiep 1 Hydropower Project is located in Bolikhamxay Province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, where the Nam Ngiep River flows from north to south and joins the Mekong River near Pakxan. With an installed capacity of 290MW, it is one of the key energy projects in the region, playing a vital role in power supply and promoting socio-economic development.
