From 6-15 June, 2023, the representatives of related parties including Phongsubthavy Group (Employer), EPC Contractor (SCI Group), as well as LJ Hydro Consultant (Employer's Engineer - remotely) have organized a trip to inspect and witness the FAT of turbines and generators under the scope of electro-mechanical equipment package to be supplied for Nam Sam 3 HPP with its designated capacity as 3x52MW (Laos) in Europe.
Therein, the parties have inspected and technically evaluated as well as co-joined in a lot of significant tests such as dynamic balancing of runner, distributor, fabrication synchronization test between turbine shaft and generator shaft, insulation test of stator bar, rotor magnetic poles, bearings and guide bearings of the upper and lower bracket, excitation system and vibration control system of Units, etc.
The testing witness, especially in the preparation stage for the readiness of dispatch, is a key mission which is regularly held at every SCI’s project to ensure the delivery time, compatibility between the ordered and produced equipment in terms of standard and contractual requirements, thereby, helping to optimally and comprehensively control all technical aspects and the progress of projects.
Nam Sam 3 HPP is designed with a total capacity of 156MW, including 3 vertical Francis Turbines. It is expected that the project will be completed and handed over to the Employer in the year of 2024.
