We are from different regions all over Vietnam. All brothers gather here to realize SCI E&C’s ambitions.
Quang Tri has long been known for its sunshine and hot sand. When assigned tasks to the projects in this Huong Hoa, I was a little confused, but on the day of "enlistment", the available enthusiasm of SCI E&C brothers seemed to blow away all concerns.
Regardless of the the rugged mountainous terrain, SCI pioneered the construction of wind power projects in Huong Hoa. Numerous typical projects can be named such as the Gelex 1, 2, and 3 wind power plants with the number of 21 wind turbine towers having the total investment of nearly 4,100 billion VND; Huong Phung 2.3 Wind Power Plant with a capacity of 50MW and 12 wind turbine towers having the total investment of VND 2,200 billion; Huong Linh 7 Wind Power Plant having the capacity of 30MW and 7 wind turbine towers or Huong Linh 8 Wind Power Plant with the capacity of 25.2MW and 6 wind turbine towers having the total investment of over 2,300 billion VND.
At the Gelex 1,2,3 wind power project, despite the extremely difficult conditions caused by the remote terrain with the erratic rain and sun, we always focus on the safety. The first shift of the day started early at 5:00 a.m. All brothers had taken care of their personal protective equipment and finished their breakfast, got into the car to move to the construction site. A new working day with numerous experiences are waiting for them.
At home, you are possibly not do exercise in the morning, but my brothers at the site are all very "disciplined" with warming up 10 minutes before work. After an impressive start-up, the brothers seemed to be invigorated for a new day. At Huong Linh 4 wind power project, SCI E&C teams have just completed the last concrete foundation for the wind power and are in the process of completing the access road to the towers.
The first starter wheels of the Mechanized Team seem warming up the air. The excavators, rollers, bulldozers are driving one after another on the road to the W10X tower.
The construction and installation of the Stations and 22kv transmission line are most focused. The works requires the absolute labour safety and prevention of the dangerous risks must be ensured in the electrical management and the material lifting (the anti-falling measures must be taken to ensure no falling of the materials during the lifting). The Chief Engineer in charge of Huong Linh 4 Project - Mr. Nguyen Van Hoai revealed: "At SCI E&C, although the site construction is performed on the complicated weather terrain, the regulations, rules and principles are always ensured. The construction rules and norms, especially the occupational safety and environmental sanitation for people, machinery and equipment must be guaranteed. The strict construction objective of the project is the first, the life and health safety of the workers are on top!"
Huong Phung 2.3 wind power project is performed during the rainy days. It is not easy to transport the nearly 70m long blade and the steel turbine towers with 111m high Hub on the difficult terrain. Witnessing the equipment with a maximum lift angle of 50 degrees, a rotation angle of 360 degrees, a maximum payload of 500 tons transporting and installing the blades shows how wonderful E&C's combination of technology is.
On sunset afternoons upon returning to the camp, looking at the wind turbines at the completed Huong Linh 7,8 project, our brothers seem desiring to continue conquering new projects, The new building is taller and wider. Away from the family, gathered here, the employees find fun after work in the volleyball and football teams. Sports are simple but help us understand better about our colleagues and brothers in our E&C house.
The weekend night is the time when we gather together to talk about the family and relatives. When Mr. Tran Van Hanh under the repair team sang the song "Truong Son Dong, Truong Son Tay" momentarily in each brother, he saw the silhouette of his wife and mother in his hometown. A little bit of emptiness is fleeting, but with the responsibility of being a son and a key husband, we all put aside nostalgia to complete the task at the construction site. In just a short time, SCI E&C employees will continue to come to new projects. But surely the land of Quang Tri will be a very memorable part of our happy memories!
