Visiting Nam Lum 2 Hydropower Project these days, we can see the exciting feelings of each employee. The workers, engineers are working at the utmost efforts in every single work to make ready for the grid energization of Nam Lum 2 Hydropower Plant to 110kV national transmission line.
After nearly 3 years of construction with many obstacles, Nam Lum 2 Hydropower Project is expected to be done in this September. All works are the Site are expedited to complete before bringing into operation.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Sang, the officer of SCI Lai Chau JSC is staying at Site for supervising and managing works and coordinating with all other related bodies at Site at this key stage. Mr. Sang said, at the operation area, the equipment system is strictly followed by EPC Contractor (SCI E&C JSC) as per the requirements of the Employer. Since the equipment is supplied by competent companies and the process is managed closely, no difficulties are recorded during installation. This facilitates the Engineering and Supervision Consultant to carry out the testing, calibration as well as acceptance for Powerhouse equipment.
Everyday, at the Powerhouse area, all engineers of SCI Lai Chau JSC together with the supervisors of Vietnam Electricity Corporation (EVN) are testing and calibrating the equipment. All teams are working at the control panels to integrate the primary circuit equipment including transformer, switchgear, disconnecting switch, etc. with the control system of the Powerhouse. In the meantime, the teams are preparing required data to communicate with Regional Load Dispatch Center A1 of EVN.
The supervisors of the Consultant who are working here analyzed that at each hydropower project, the control panels are installed and functioned as the protecting method for the switch equipment and being the connection and power transmission point. Therefore, every detail, and the configuration needs to pass a lot of strict and careful inspection steps before acceptance. At the moment, all teams are putting efforts to prepare for the moment of successful grid connection.
With the on-going schedule of configuration calibration, Nam Lum 2 Power Plant is expected to be done timely as per the schedule registered with EVN on the systematic testing frame. All Parties including the Employer, the EPC Contractor, Consultant are striving to finish the acceptance of the Project as per the Procedure of testing and commercial operation date certification (COD) regulated by EVN.
Nam Lum 2 Hydropower Project is invested by SCI Lai Chau JSC with the total investment amount of 630 billion Vietnamese Dong. The Project is located at Ban Lang and Dao San commune, Phong Tho district, Lai Chau province. The Project is consulted by SCI PMC JSC with the EPC role of SCI E&C JSC and being processed under supervision of EVN since 2019. It is forecasted that at the end of this year, Nam Lum 2 Hydropower Project shall be completed of construction, energization and power producing commencement.
