Mr. Luu Minh Thanh - New Deputy Director of SCI E&C Joint Stock Company has nearly 10 years of working with SCI. He has participated in mumerouslarge and small projects such as: Ca Nan Hydropower Plant, Ho Chi Minh City La Son - Tuy Loan, Gelex Ninh Thuan Solar Power and is currently in charge of Nam Sam 3 Hydropower Project in Laos. Recently, Mr. Luu Minh Thanh has been appointed as Deputy Director of SCI E&C (in charge of construction), we had a small talk
with the young leader after taking on this new role.
Reporter: Could you share a little about your feelings when you take the new role as Deputy Director of SCI E&C?
Deputy Director Luu Minh Thanh: I feel very fortunate to work at SCI since I graduated from university in 2014, it has been almost 10 years so far. I am always proud that I am a "product" of SCI, trained in professional skills, worked in practice, lived with passion for the hydropower construction. Thanh has experienced many positions at SCI and when Thanh received the trust of the Board of Directors to assign me to take on this new position, I really felt very happy and realized that the greater the responsibility on my shoulders, the more I myself must try harder in everything
Reporter: For nearly 10 years working with SCI, what has kept you here?
Deputy Director Luu Minh Thanh: SCI has a very meaningful culture that is an emotional lifestyle between colleagues and leaders. At the construction site, brothers and sisters are far away from their families, everyone lives together with love, bonded like a second small family. The Board of Directors always takes care of the lives of the brothers and sisters, so that everyone can relieve their family's nostalgia and focus on their work. In addition, they are the leaders with a wealth of professional experience, teaching me a lot to get to where I am today.
Reporter: With the characteristics of the hydropower construction which often work away from home, how do you balance work and family life?
Deputy Director Luu Minh Thanh: For me, balancing work and family is very difficult. Each person will have their own balance threshold. I have determined from the beginning, if I want my family to have good living conditions, I have to do a better job. I always prioritize building self-worth before following
the money. As your expertise improves, everything will get better and reach its equilibrium.
Besides, I have a very solid backing, my wife and young daughter, who always trust, sympathize and understand me, support me to live and pursue my passion with a clear plan and goals.
Reporter: In the near future, what are your plans for the new position?
Deputy Director Luu Minh Thanh: In the coming time, in my new position as Deputy Director of SCI E&C, I will focus heavily on ongoing projects, especially Nam Sam 3 hydropower project in Laos. This is a big project in the friend country, mobilize resources of several hundred employees to participate in the construction, all of them are very enthusiastic about this project.
On development of the enterprise, people will come and go, but for me, right from the moment I set foot in SCI, I have determined that I will be the one to go to the last station on the development path of SCI.
