The first central controlled system wind power plan in Vietnam designed by SCI PMC

Dispite establishment of 6 years, SCI Consulting Joint Stock Company (SCI PMC) has been a reputable design Company in the construction industry. Especially in the past 2 years, the company has been widely known when it designed the first centrally controlled wind power plant in Vietnam.

As SCI Group’s member, SCI Consulting Joint Stock Company is a designing Company specializing in the fields of hydropower, irrigation, traffic, and civil construction. With the recent development of renewable energy, SCI PMC is constantly updating the modern techniques and entering into the consulting and designing of the wind and solar power projects.

In 2019, if SCI PMC only performed the design consultancy for the GEC-Chu Prong wind mast project, and the Yang Bac-Tasco wind mast project (Gia Lai). From 2020, the company has peformed the design consultancy for numerous projects, ttypically mentioned as the Gelex 1,2,3 wind power plant project having 21 wind turbine towers with a total investment of nearly 4,100 billion VND; Huong Phung 2.3 Wind Power Plant having the capacity of 50MW and 12 wind turbine towers with the total investment of VND 2,200 billion; Huong Linh 7 Wind Power Plant having the capacity of 30MW and 7 wind turbine towers or Huong Linh 8 Wind Power Plant with the capacity of 25.2MW and 6 wind turbine towers with the total investment of over 2,300 billion VND.

Previously, SCI PMC designed the hydroelectric projects with the main tasks including research, hydrological survey, hydroelectricity, hydraulics, structure, electromechanical equipment, construction organization, cost estimate... So far, although the wind power plants have a narrower scope in terms of construction, the requirements for expertise are very high, the amount of work required to be handled is large and focused in a much shorter time than other hydroelectric projects.

In the wind turbine foundation structure, the Company shall work closely with the Eequipment supplier - Enercon Group (Germany) to grasp the technology for synchronism with the Equipment.  The local consulttation shall meet the  industry standards and regulations. Vietnam electricity. The requirements for the quality and progress of the turbine foundation construction are also very strict (at the request of the wind turbine supplier) that requires the leaders and engineers of SCI PMC to have smooth coordination between the design and constructionn, construction, transportation and installation of equipment

Shared by Mr. Vu An Minh - Deputy General Director of SCI Group, in design of the service and operation road system for the  wind power projects in Quang Tri, SCI in general and SCI PMC in particular are one of the first contractors in Vietnam obtained a license to transport the wind turbine blades on the road (adapter). The adapter helps to transport the blades through the complicated terrains with narrow corners and steep slopes to avoid the obstacles such as power lines, houses, roadside trees, and at the same time save maximum cost of ground clearance. SCI has transported all 46 sets of 68m long turbine blades which weigh over 20 tons to the installation site.

It is especial to mention the design and construction of 110 KV line substation and operation office. SCI PMC is also leading in consultantion of the wind turbine plant clusters  in Vietnam to design the central control system (OCC). This system is considered the "brain" of the smart powerhouse, playing the center role to receive control signals and handle the operation of the terminals. This is considered a step forward for PMC thanks to the saving of maximum costs and the direct labors for the plants upon operation while the required quality and safety for the entire wind powerhouse in the system is still ensured

Performing the projects from the  survey - design - construction - handover, SCI PMC always arranges the human resources at the site to solve all issues as quickly as possible. That is the reason why the design, coordination and consulting throughout the construction process of the projects responsible by the company always ensure the progress and quality.

The initial impressions mentioned above are obtained thaks to the orientation and wise leadership of the Company’s Board of Directors. During the implementation process, the close coordination and maximum support between SCI PMC and the Investor, general contractor, equipment transport/installation contractors have been made.
