In the framework of the visit to Viet Nam from 5th – 9th October, the delegation of Department of Energy Safety Management (DESM) under Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) of Lao P.D.R leading by the Director of DESM has visited and worked at SCI Joint Stock Company (SCI Group).
The delegation is welcomed in the presence of the Chairman of BOD - Mr. Nguyen Cong Hung, the General Director Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc and other BOM’s members of SCI Group welcomed.

On behalf of SCI Group, the Chairman of BOD - Mr. Nguyen Cong Hung welcomed the delegation of DESM to visit and work with SCI. On this occasion, Mr. Nguyen Cong Hung has shared SCI’s advantages on the investment, engineering and construction of renewable energy projects with the Director of DESM – Mr. Bouathep Malaykham and the delegation. In addition, he has mentioned SCI’s targets in the coming time which are the investigation and development of more renewable energy projects especially hydropower projects in Laos.
At the meeting, two Parties have discussed the issues during the implementation at Nam Sam 3 Hydropower Project (Nam Sam 3 HEP) in which SCI Group has been playing the role of EPC Contractor. Nam Sam 3 HEP is considered as one of the key projects of SCI Group, therefore, SCI always highly aware its importance to the direction execution of Vietnamese Government and Laos Government.
The Director of DESM, Mr. Bouathep Malaykham has launched a speech in the meeting with SCI Group.
The Director of DESM, Mr. Bouathep Malaykham has express his congratulations as well as appreciation to the achievements of SCI Group which have been done so far and the success during Nam Sam 3 HEP implementation. He has also mentioned that this is a key energy project of Laos in this stage which gathered high attention of the leaders of Laos People's Revolutionary Party and Laos Government. Laos Government commits to support, assist, and make favor for SCI and relevant parties to promote the construction and bringing the project into operation timely.
At the meeting on the occasion of the 65th anniversary celebration of Vietnam – Laos relationship, the Chairman of BOD - Mr. Nguyen Cong Hung expressed his expectation that the special connection between two countries shall become more and more closely, delightfully as well as widely.
