After more than 3 years of operation, Ca Nan 1 and Ca Nan 2 Hydropower Plant clusters under SCI Nghe An Joint Stock Company with a total installed capacity of 23 MW have supplied the annual output of hundreds of millions kWh to the national grid.
It is presently the peak season, the cluster of plants is striving to perform the optimal efficiency operation to ensure the power output supplied to the national grid, contribute to satisfying the increased load demand, maintaining the electrical system stability. With the limited rainfall in the dry season and very little flow to the lake, the operation must be calculated very carefully to ensure the maximum concentrated power generation during the peak hours. Currently, the water flow to the lake is still sufficient to generate the maximum capacity of 3 units in the peak 5 hours.
In order to ensure the continuous operation with high efficiency and intensity of the plant cluster, especially in the harsh summer weather conditions in the mountainous area of Nghe An, the enhanced inspection and monitoring have been taken by the operators and repair staffs during Unit’s generation, the maintenance work during the standby halt of the units is fully done. The rain observation and survey of the water flow to the lake are prioritized and monitored very closely.
Mr. Nguyen Luu Liem - Head of the repair team said: "In the summer, when the units generate the power, the principal equipment systems as well as the auxiliary systems shall operate at full capacity under the ambient temperature conditions. Therefore, during the plant operation, we always have to strengthen the inspection, supervision, maintenance and periodic maintenance in accordance with the regulations."
In 2021, the total output of the two plants reached 111,253,739 kWh. In 2022, the Company sets a target for the total power output of the plant cluster to exceed 2021. Not only well performing the main tasks of power generation, the cluster of plants has fully implemented the natural disaster prevention plans, the disaster response, emergency response plan, the dam protection to ensure absolute safety for the project and the downstream areas in the rainy and flood season. Thereby, SCI Nghe An Joint Stock Company has contributed significantly to the annual budget and to promote the local economic development and security.
Mr. Than Long Thach -The company Deputy Director said: "SCI Nghe An always fulfils its obligations to pay the local state budget and taxes, contributes to promoting the economic development and improving the lives of people in the locality; At the same time, enthusiastically participates in the charity activities such as: Charity house Building - Who needs shall come to take, who has will share, the program to raise children to school, support to repair houses for needy families, support local households in the prevention of covid... Annually, the company has paid about 18 billion dong/year to Nghe An province's budget, and more than 10 billion dong/year for natural resources tax."
Ca Nan 1 and Ca Nan 2 hydroelectric power plants are 100% focusing their human resources to ensure the highest efficiency of power generation to make full use of the water resources in the peak season, contributing to meeting the increased load demand, stabilizing the power system, affirming the spirit and responsibility of SCI people.
